Tomb Raider 2013

Its been a while since I bought an Xbox One game, the last being Rare Reply collection (£20 is such a steal for whats included), and I picked up 2 games for £20.

The first was Dishonored 1, the Definitive Edition. This was a game I missed first time around and so thought it worth a shot as the sequel is in production and the game looks like the best bits of Assassins Creed with elements of Thief and The Order 1886. Ive yet to install this, but have been instead playing the other game I bought, Tomb Raider, the 2013 game.

Now I was acutely aware that this game had very little raiding of tombs but was more of an action survival game. Having also recently started playing Far Cry Primal, I was ready for some bow and arrow action, and so far been very pleased with the Tomb Raider game.

Being a purist, I only ever enjoyed the first game. The sequels took Lara too far away from the the mission which was to raid tombs and turned her into a Jane Bond type heroine. With improved graphics this latest 2013 game really shows the dark and dank tombs she would most likely have visited in the first game. Id love to see a remake of the original with current gen hardware.

Raspberry Pi 3

I havent used either of my Raspberry Pis for a while now, but thats down to my ever changing loft setup. On the 29th February 2016 they released the Raspberry Pi 3. I like that they have finally done away with the A and B models and just called them simple revisions.

The 3 new features of the Pi 3 is a
  1. 50% faster processor which will make it ideal for running those 5th and 6th generation consoles much easier, as well (assuming the emulators are up to scratch) as making difficult consoles and games run smoother.
  2. Bluetooth connectivity, this is great news for all of us who have to buy a separate Bluetooth USB model to plug into the Pi just to get it to work with controllers.
  3. Onboard Wi-fi. This too a while to get there but this is equally great news as it frees up a USB port and truly makes the Pi a decent Linux computer.
The final piece of news is that the form factor is identical to the Pi 2 and its also the same price.
