I sadly dont get much time to play computer games these days, but do like playing retro games as well as modern fare. Apart from re-living some classic Doom 2 total conversions (the magnificent Memento Mori 1 & 2), but recently the Rebellion Games/Eidos - Rogue Trooper.
Now I dont read 2000AD anymore, but Rogue was never my favourite character, preferring the oddball stuff like RoboHunter, Halo Jones and D.R. & Quinch, but after playing this pseudo FPS (First Person Shooter)/behind the character game, I have renewed interest.
When this game was reviewed it was given a lacklustre report, which is a shame because basically it looks very nice, has some genuinely excellent moments, and in-game chatter reminding you of the comic. Yes the game has an odd-resource system which doesnt really work that well, but the game is essentially Medal of Honor (sic) and Call of Duty but set on Nu-Earth. The cut-scenes and variety (team missions, sniping, train rides etc...) is almost identical to these games, but set on a war ravaged planet. The sounds, voices and music are very good, and shooting of Norts reminds me of shooting Nazis.
The game doesnt last long, and doesnt give you that much freedom, although the sensation is there. The game is glitch-free and I feel ultimately unsatisfying because of it's length. But what it does do, it does well.
edit...2014
The elements I remember well is the addition of the Backpack (to manufacture ammo, grenades etc), Helm (radar and communications) and Gun (single shot, fully automatic, and sentry gun set up). Also the colour scheme is identical to the comic.
